Our season finale took place in the lovely woods of Lubrecht Forest, one of our finest venues. The heated rec. hall made for a nice cozy atmosphere before and after the racing, and the dusting of snow on the ground gave us that wintry feel right before the holidays.

​

The course setting team of Calvin Olson and Siri Christopherson had a great set of course for us, utilizing the nicest parts of Lubrecht. Some great results on the day included GrizO youth team members Joshua Walthall and Caroline Chitty finishing 1-2 on the Intermediate course, and a close battle between Kaia Peterson and event director Emily Johnson on Advanced Beginner, with Kaia eking out a close win. A shout-out goes also to Kaitlen O'Dell and Kyle O'Connor, who did great on the Beginner course, and immediately went out and finished Advanced Beginner too, on their very first day of orienteering.

A huge thank-you to Emily Johnson (event director), Calvin Olson and Siri Christopherson (course setters), and Chris Caldwell and Greg Friedman (control pickup) for making this event happen. This is it for us in 2024. Have a happy holiday season, and see you in 2025!
