About the Event

This is Day 4 of the Pacific Northwest Orienteering Festival.

This day is organized by the Eastern Washington Orienteering Club.

Saltese Uplands:  This very open, quite hilly venue is characterized by grassy (and weedy) hillsides with many small rock outcrops.  Be prepared for almost all controls on rock features.  Many steep, deep re-entrants have thick brush patches. Many of these are mapped (as fight), but some are not.  Good luck!

Beginner:                  1.8 km.  110m. climb      8 controls

Intermediate:            2.9 km.  170 m. climb    8 controls

Shorter advanced:   4.7 km.   240 m. climb  12 controls

Longer advanced:   7.2 km.   295 m. climb   19 controls

The "shorter advanced" is more like Green than Brown.  Given the amount of climb, you might prefer the intermediate course, but it's your choice.
